Description
There are four wild honey bees of Nepal, called Apis laboriosa, Apis dorsata, Apis florae and Apis cerana. These honey bees are some of the earth’s last remaining honey bee populations that have not been affected by exotic diseases and predators. Regardless of such, honey hunters are reporting about a reduction of the population.
This publication gives an introduction about the four wild honey bees and their threats, opportunities and recommendations for the conservation of wild honey bees of Nepal.
