PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of ESS policy and procedures is to ensure the integration of environmental and social safeguarding into LI-BIRD’s projects and programmes, particularly during the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes. The policy is intended to systematically identify, assess, monitor and evaluate the potential adverse impacts posed by projects/programmes on the environment and society. With due consideration of broader strategic direction and thematic coverage, LI-BIRD projects and programmes shall comply with the environmental and social principles and standards as set out in this policy.
