Empowering farmers in Bajura with hands-on skills on promotion Home Garden

On 28 July 2026, 32 dedicated members of the Kailash Farmers Group (Budhinanda-2, Bajura) stepped into the field for a one-day training on a nutrition-sensitive home garden. 

Most of the event was pure practice! Participants were able to build real-world skills to enhance household nutrition and diversify their income through local food systems. where participants learned essential techniques to boost local food security, including: 

  • Home garden planning & household zoning 
  • Nursery management, crop spacing & plastic tunnel care 
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) & composting 
  • Greywater management & mulching 
  • Income diversification tied to local nutrition systems 

LI-BIRD is bringing this practical training to 22 Farmers Groups throughout Budhinanda Municipality to create lasting food security across the region. 

The training was conducted under the EMPOWER Project, implemented by LI-BIRD in collaboration with FWEAN and KCDC Mugu, with generous support from WHH Nepal and BMZ.
