On 17 July 2026, the 7th PLA LANN+ (Participatory Learning and Action for Linking Agriculture and Natural Resource Management plus WASH towards Nutrition Security) Session was held with 25 members of the Budhinanda Mothers’ Group at Budhinanda Municipality–10, Dimberpani, Bajura. This session was organized as part of the Better Nutrition (Empowered communities and CSOs for inclusive nutrition governance in the hilly and mountain regions of Western Nepal) project financial supported by the European Union with technical support from Welthungerhilfe (WHH).  

During the event, the HMG members and LANN+ participants engaged in an interactive learning session on hygiene, sanitation, safe food handling, and disease prevention, promoting practical actions to reduce disease transmission and improve community health and nutrition. 

Through discussions and practical demonstrations, participants learned how diseases spread through the faecal-oral transmission route and identified simple preventive actions such as handwashing with soap, safe drinking water, proper sanitation, and food hygiene to protect children and families from illness and malnutrition. 

The session also provided a platform for community members to reflect on the positive changes achieved through collective efforts, including increased toilet use, improved hygiene practices, and stronger community awareness. Together, these actions contribute to healthier communities and better nutrition outcomes.
