
Following the successful completion of the Livelihood Resilience Enhancement Project (LREP) Phase I and II, a new programme called “Climate Resilient Rural Communities (CRRC)” (जलवायु उत्थानशील ग्रामीण समुदाय कार्यक्रम) in Western Teria: Kailali, Banke, Bardiya, Mid-hill; Salyan and High Hill; Humla is implemented by LI-BIRD as the consortium lead, in partnership with Janajagaran Samaj (JJS), Dalit Welfare Organization (DWO), Community Based Organization Development Center (CBODC), Tharu Community Development Forum (TCDF), Self-Help Initiative Promotion Center Nepal (SHIP Nepal), and Community Seed Bank Association Nepal (CSBAN) as a strategic partner.
The programme is financially supported by the Development Fund (DF) Norway through Norad with the goal of enhancing the climate resilience and well-being of rural communities in Nepal. The programme aims to benefit rural households through climate-resilient livelihoods, sustainable natural resource management, local institutional strengthening, and community-based adaptation initiatives.
The expected Outcomes of the project are:
IO1: Improved food security and nutrition for rural households
IO2: Increased economic empowerment for rural households, especially women, youth and marginalised groups
IO3: Improved government services and legal frameworks in line with rural communities’ needs, rights and priorities
IO4: Rural women and marginalised groups have increased influence and recognition within their households, grassroots organisations and communities
