Livestock, Livelihoods and Climate Change Interaction: A Collaborative Research in the Gandaki River Basin of Nepal

“Livestock, Livelihoods and Climate Change Interaction: A Collaborative Research in the Gandaki River Basin of Nepal” was a joint undertaking of LI-BIRD, Nepal, and Arizona State University (ASU), USA.

The overarching goal of this project was to foster the adaptive capacity of livestock keepers vulnerable to exposure-driven by climate and other ongoing changes. This project enhanced adaptive capacity by highlighting the communities’ current skills, experience, strategic responses, and governance structure for adaptation planning in the Gandaki River Basin (GRB).  It helped build the capacity of the communities to sustain their livelihoods in the face of climate change by generating locally relevant knowledge, enhancing coping capacities, and improving the resilience of crop-livestock systems to climate change through research.
