Integrated Resources Management of Water and Ecosystem in Central hills of Nepal

Integrated Resources Management of Water and Ecosystem in Central hills of Nepal project is being implemented by Kanchan Nepal and International Rainwater Harvesring Alliance (IRHA) in collaboration with Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) in Kaski district and Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI) in Chitwan district with financial support from Federation Genevoise de Cooperation (FGC) and Services Industries de Geneve (SIG) from July 2023 till June 2026. The project aims to improve community resilience and living conditions by restoring ecosystem functionalities, enhancing water availability, consolidating agricultural practices and strengthening collective/sustainable management of natural resources by local actors in the intervention area.

The key focus of the project is promoting agroecological farming approach that utilizes and promotes crop diversity, improves soil health, conserves and sustainably utilizes water and other natural resources, maximizes utilization of local resources. Additionally, the project aims to empower women, indigenous communities and small holder farmers. The implementation areas include Pokhara Metropolitan city ward No. 13 (Arba), 28 (Okhle) and 31 (Begnas), Madi Rural Municipality-5 (Sunpadali) and Rupa Rural Municipality-2 (Majkot).
