- To make provisions of principles, options and approaches to integrate agrobiodiversity in agricultural development available to concerned stakeholders
- To develop indicators for monitoring impact of in-situ conservation activities on crop diversity and human livelihoods
- To enhance project management and the strategic decision making capacity in participatory approaches
- To support the institutionalization process of in-situ conservation programmes and policies at a national level through increased scientific capacities and representative partnerships
- The ultimate goal is to strengthen the scientific basis, institutional linkages and policies that support the role of farmers in conservation and use of crop genetic diversity
