Improving livelihoods of poor and marginalized farmers through agriculture value chain approach (ILM-DCA)
DanChurchAid (DCA in Nepal) and LI-BIRD have signed a cooperation agreement for the programme ‘Improving livelihoods of poor and marginalized farmers through agriculture value chain approach in Doti and Achham districts’ with effect from August 2017 to December 2019. This programme has the objective of building the resilient livelihood system, and LI-BIRD is responsible to provide technical assistance (TA) support to local partners to implement DCA funded projects in Doti, Achham and Dailekh districts. LI-BIRD will assess the knowledge/skill and capacity gap of DCA partners and then provide customized technical support services on value chain development of selected commodities, diversifying the value chains through participatory action-research, and integrate climate-smart, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) friendly, and sustainable agricultural technologies and practices including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives to address site-specific vulnerabilities. The programme demands that the partner NGOs maintain a high degree of coherence and complementarities while designing and delivering activities on the ground.
