Social Research and Policy Advocacy for Inclusive Impacts

Goal: To contribute to programme effectiveness and favourable policy changes for our impact group through inclusive project design and evidence-based advocacy.

The Social Research and Policy cross-cutting theme has two important roles. One is to ensure socially sound project design and delivery that is focused on the empowerment of the impact group. The other role is to facilitate coherent policy work across the programmes. By building on the lessons we learn from our focused work, our evidence-based policy advocacy will enable us to safeguard the rights of greater number of farmers in our impact group.

Social Research and Policy will perform the following functions:

  • Facilitate and ensure the quality of social and economic research studies in LI-BIRD.
  • Develop institutional positions on key issues.
  • Coordinate evidence-based policy advocacy to safeguard rights of our impact groups.
