Improving Seed Systems for Smallholder Farmers’ Food Security (DADS II)  is SDC and Bioversity International supported project,  jointly implemented by LI-BIRD and NARC/NAGRC in Bara, Kaski and Jumla districts.

Local Crop Project (LCP) is a UNEP/GEF supported project, implemented by LI-BIRD,  NARC/NAGRC, Department of Agriculture (DoA) under the coordination of Bioversity International in Humla, Jumla, Lamjung and Dolakha districts.

Evolutionary Plant Breeding (EPB) is an IFAD supported project, jointly implemented by LI-BIRD and NARC/NAGRC under coordination of Bioversity International in Jumla and Lamjung districts.

Job Summary:  The Plant Breeder will be responsible to lead and manage LI-BIRD’s Participatory Crop Improvement (PCI) portfolio and coordinate PCI activities carried out in LCP and EPB projects. The major duties include: maintenance LI-BIRD developed PCI products, coordinate varietal evaluations, data analysis, release & registration proposals,  maintain relationship with national research and extension systems including local governments, source seed production, data management and report writing.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Agriculture (Plant Breeding or Genetics and Plant Breeding). Candidates with two years of work experience in related field are encouraged to apply.
